Recycling, energy savings

If you visit a variety of environmental forum, would undoubtedly you come across people who claim that recovery is not so effective-that it may take as much energy to recycle materials to extract and present them in the first place.

I claim not to have any special skills or training, but little information I researched on the people involved with a variety of common materials from what I think is pretty good sources of energy savings.

Energy savings-recycling metals

These figures also takes into account the sorting and transport of material.

Aluminium-95%
Copper-85%
Lead-60%
Steel-62-74%
Zinc-60%

Data from the British metal Recycling Association

Apart from energy savings, several metals can be recovered, smaller (or slower) destruction of the environment from mining; While recycling process can produce toxic substances; mining really makes and in much larger volumes.
