Green living: Tips for keeping your House green while you go on vacation

Green living is important for many people nowadays. Special attention to live green is what is done at home. Maybe you have already begun to create a greener lifestyle where you live, but what you can do to keep a green house while you are away from home, whether in an extended business trip or on vacation? Here are some ideas to make sure that your home remains green, even when you're not there.


Before you leave, take a little time to do a quick check around the House. Make sure the lights are turned off, except for any that you can keep on for security purposes. Make sure your thermostat is set so that the heating or cooling is minimized. For heating in the winter months, lower the thermostat to 55 degrees centigrade. If you are on vacation away from home during the warmer months, make sure your thermostat is turned up about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This way you will not run an injurious great utility, heating or cooling unoccupied, empty space. Turn off all electronic devices, or if the electronic devices are plugged into a power strip switchable, make sure the power is completely off. Often, I just Unplug the power strip to make sure that there is no leakage of energy vampire happening while I'm away. Dial down the temperature of your water heater to near room temperature. I like to define mine about 60 degrees f. is not required to keep all that hot water when nobody is around.If you're cleaning perishable items in your refrigerator, leaving a little empty, fill some jars with water and put them in the refrigerator while you're away. Have a relatively complete refrigerator help keep the cold temperature with less energy needed. Cold Items actually work as a "cold sink" and helps to protect against the loss of heat.


It's easy to get so focused on planning your getaway that you forget to plan on how best to keep your water and energy efficient at home while you're gone.These tips will help you keep a green house while you are away and also will save you some money.
