Did you know that the State of California was recently banned plastic bags in supermarkets? And I assume that this new law will enter into force on the future. Who does plastic bags and plastic industry, I think this is terrible. And they have multiple reasons. One is that some plastic bags are made from corn products, and in the process of refining of ethanol and biodiesel, leftovers molecules that can be put together to make polymer chains and Yes plastic bags from the grocery store.
In fact, there is an entire industry defined now that takes recycled plastic bags and transforms them into other things. They are easy to recycle and process. If we decide not to use plastic bags, or is there a law against it, there will be leftovers chemicals at oil refineries and ethanol, with nowhere to go. This is not good and we have an entire industry, with some bright, innovative entrepreneurs and scientists-we may have finally figured it all out and now California changed the rules.
Still, many Americans are now taking their own shopping bags with them to the grocery store and filling them, some grocery stores, and I know that my grocery give points or discounts on future purchases if you bring your own bags. That is environmentally friendly, with certainty, and that is a way to participate in green living. There was also a very interesting article in the Newspaper not long ago by Lamb Anjeli entitled "Food Packaging Goes Green", and it discussed many companies who use bioplastics.
Several of these companies are now FDA approved and many of the products for personal care, food and even plastic containers are made from bioplastics. I think you should read this article and consider how the free market and the system of free enterprise already solved the problem. Now, in the State of California is changing all the rules and in doing so they are taking jobs from start-ups that are not only solve the problems of humanity, are helping us to make better choices when we buy products.
I bet you bought even products that were wrapped in plastic, and this plastic is made from corn, and you didn't even know it-and Yes, you already put these in the Recycle Bin, which is good, they will be recycled, but it is wonderful that sometimes, you can participate in green, living without even knowing about it.Maybe we need to stop and explain that for some of environmentalists, as they lobby our legislators and Government make laws more stringent and more stringent, when they don't understand. Please consider all of this.
